The Water Series of my Elemental Collection of Sea Glass Jewelry is created using an amazing array of blue, aqua, turquoise, teal and seafoam beach glass for obvious reasons to lovers of the sea. The colors in this series
are considered to be either rare or extremely rare and, unquestionably, represent the most popular colors of sea glass.
Although water is colorless, it appears to be many shades of blue, aquamarine or even green. People who study these things say that water has an intrinsic color which has a unique origin, the explanation of which is highly technical, and any simple answer will confuse or mislead. Put as simply as possible, the color of water is the result of the intrinsic absorption quality of water, the reflected skylight, and the angle at which it is observed. To the best of our knowledge, it is the only example from nature in which color originates from vibrational transitions.
Water is the stuff of life; without it life as we know cannot exist. Water is related in the unconscious world of dreams and symbols to emotions and intuition. The cool, smooth feel of these colors of beach glass impart a soothing, calming effect on the body, mind and spirit. Wearing seaglass in these colors is like wearing a drop of water frozen in time.
